Competition Report April / May 2017

Lucien Mus Cup in Ieper 14th – 16th April

On Friday 14TH April the senior team travelled out to Belgium with myself & Sophie. Thankfully we didn't have a first round start on the Saturday so we were able to take the girls to look around the town for a while.

This was a team competition and the girls all competed very well to come in 6th place. Isabella Cashmore had a great day to place 12th on bars & 5th on beam. Tilly also had a great beam routine to place 2nd. Kirsty & Verity performed their new floor routines for the first time and they looked very nice. Zoe competed on bars & floor with her floor scoring the highest on the team. After the comp there was a banquet where all the girls were able to have a bit of fun with some of the other teams.

On the Sunday Isabella and Tilly competed in the beam final where Isabella hit her routine superbly to finish in 2nd place. We then had a bit of time to look around the town and have some fun at the local park before our journey home.

Level 2 Compulsory - 30th April

Congratulations to Eleanor Cox who competed very well to pass her Level 2 with a score of 56.00. This means that Eleanor can now progress on to Compulsory 1 and the British Championships next year.

NDP National Grades Finals – 21st May

Poppy Hanscomb & Sydney Lawler competed as part of the Southern region team in the National grade 1 competition. Both girls competed with their new Yurchenko vaults and scored very well on this piece. Sydney has worked very hard to improve her routines especially on Range and Conditioning where she scored very well leading to her placing 22nd overall. Poppy also had an excellent day scoring well on every piece to place 12th overall. Both the girls scored significantly higher than at the qualifying comp so congratulations to both.

South Region Squad

Following the girls’ recent success at regional & national comps Poppy Hanscomb & Eleanor Cox have been selected to join the Southern region squad. Well done to both of them.
